Work in Progress: Josie Portillo

March 3, 2016

Instagram is pretty much where the party is at lately, including the Instagram of good pal and Red Cap artist, Josie Portillo. We stumbled across this snapshot of one of her works-in-progress for an upcoming Red Cap holiday card and couldn't wait to share it here:

We love to see those pencil strokes! Don't you wish you were a drawing so you could live in this house?? This design will be a part of a larger collection of 72 cards we are printing this spring, including a lovely assortment of holiday cards from Josie and more, plus new work from Barbara Dziadosz.

Another fun find–check out this illustration from Josie's new book, The League of Beastly Dreadfuls Book 2: The Dastardly Deed written by Holly Grant. This behind-the-scenes snippet from Josie cracks us up: “I'll let you in on a little secret – I loosely based Sir Marvelmop's design on talented yet creepy music producer Phil Spector who sported all sorts of outlandish wigs during a murder trial.” ha!
